On May 5, the last day of the holiday, the airports handled 2,307 flights and served 374,000 passengers, the highest ever recorded for the holiday.
Officials said that on May 1-5 Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao airports handled the departures and arrivals of a combined 11,000 flights, a whopping 29 percent increase on the previous year.
